This is how I see myself most of the time
- as a shadow in front of me...
but I like the concept, the cracks like nerves,
the blue tones,
being of the earth/stone, grounded,
yet ephemeral and temporary,
gesturing with my hands.
Welcome!
In my blog I am tracking my various projects. If you click on an image you can see it bigger. I invite you to comment. There is a spot where you can write at the bottom of the entries.
My creative life draws me in many directions using art, crafts, language and music.
No matter what I do I always am anchored by sewing. I started sewing in early elementary school and never stopped. My college major was apparel design and in my early career I worked in theater, opera and ballet making costumes. In the 80's I wrote for Threads Magazine.
Then there is art, especially painting and drawing. Painting touches my soul like nothing else. This led to mo go back to school for a Masters Degree in Education to become certified in New York in art and home economics.
I like to make jewelry for fun and relaxation. I sell my creations at rebeccanebesar.etsy.com and also through special orders.
I have written and illustrated a couple of books, one called The Moon in the Morning: A Fairytale with a New Twist.
Although I have been knitting since age 8, I started spinning and weaving in middle age.
